Citrus DEC

Committees

The committees of the DEC are where the work of running the party is carried out. Committee members are committed to accomplishing the goals of the DEC and whatever charge the Chair tasks them with completing.
 

You do not need to be a DEC Member to join a committee; you only need to be a registered Democrat residing in Citrus County. Read below about the several committees and feel free to contact one or more Committee Chairs to join their committees

Committees

Campaign 

The Campaign Committee shall be co-chaired by the State Committee Persons and shall recommend to the Steering Committee election campaign programs, including publicity, financing, and methods designed to foster the election of Democratic candidates in general elections.  The Campaign Committee may advise candidates in Democratic primaries, but shall do so without fostering the candidacy of any particular individual seeking nomination and without using the DEC as a forum to promote the nomination of any particular candidate.

FInance & Fundraising 

The Finance and Fundraising Committee shall prepare and submit to the Steering Committee by
November of each year an annual budget for the operation of the DEC, and shall
recommend ways and means for raising funds to further the purposes of the DEC.
The budget may be amended as needed by the Finance and Fundraising
Committee.

Diversity & Inclusion

The Diversity & Inclusion Committee works   to  make  the  party  a  more  inclusive  and  diverse  party  which  supports policies that uplift all humans.  The committee recommends policies and initiatives to the Steering Committee to ensure acceptance,  inclusion,  understanding,  and  learning  within  our Party and within our society.  The committee is also charged with ensuring  that the membership of the HCDEC is representative of gender, ethnicity,  creed,  age,  sexual  orientation,  economic  status,  disability,  physical ability, and area of residence as that which make up Citrus County.

Young Democrats

The Young  Democrats  Committee: works  with  the  Florida  Young Democrats to mobilize young people between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate in the electoral process, influence elections, promote the ideals of the Democratic Party and develop the skills of the youth generation to serve as leaders on local, state, and national levels.

Public Relations

The Public Relations Committee plans and implements the marketing and public relations activities for the DEC including coordinating participation in community events, photographing events,writing and submitting press releases and public service announcements, and
maintaining the website and social media sites as well as other communication
efforts aimed at increasing our visibility and attracting new members.
