I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Crystal Lizanich and her family for the last three years and am excited that I have the opportunity to vote for her for Inverness City Council Seat 1.
Crystal and her family purchased their first home in Inverness four years ago while her husband was deployed to Kuwait and have since managed to grow important roots in a community they have fallen in love with.
A busy working mom of a 10-year-old daughter, Crystal for two years served as the vice president of the Hernando Elementary School PTA. Like many working moms, Crystal knows how to multitask and advocate for important people in her life.
I am excited that Crystal can bring her passion and talent to our city of Inverness leadership. She very astutely pointed out the challenge of access to our City Council meeting provided to its citizens. I regularly watch our BOCC meetings either real time or in replay in light of the convenient accessibility provided on line. Likewise – I have greatly appreciated the access of our Citrus County School Board meetings via YouTube. The lack of similar view ability to our Inverness City Council meeting stands in stark contrast and I’m so glad Crystal has brought this to light for us.
My husband and I have been residents of the City of Inverness for 18 years now – and we certainly applaud much of the attention that has been paid to downtown Inverness and the new Depot District — but it is undeniable that the history of expensive Depot District-related “blunders,”, including one reported this week in the paper, — would seem to suggest that the Council may be erring on the side of getting along, to get along and not being proper stewards of budgets related to capital improvements.
I’m excited at the prospect of adding Crystal’s talent to the running of the City of Inverness. Vote for Crystal Lizanich for Inverness City Council Seat 1.
